The quest for natural cosmetics continues and the search for the perfect red lipstick has become my cross to bear when trying to 'clean up' my make up bag. Years ago I worked in a salon that stocked Jane Iredale products, in the spa area, the spa manager was always on about how good the brand was (however she was really mean and wouldn't even let staff swatch the colours!!) plus I always assumed that the brand didn't do darker shades but with a click of the button I found that they indeed had an array of shades for darker skin tones. I got my Jane Iredale products from Beauty Time Therapies a company that started out as a salon supplies company but now sell online to us regular people! they have an range of spa quality brands. I got two PureMoist lipsticks in Carrie and Melisa, a Lip Gloss in Cosmo and the Active Light Under Eye Concealer
The Pure Gloss lip gloss has a sparkle finish and looks great over purple and red. the formula is made up from vegetable oils and has a lip plumping effect, the colour pay off is good for a lip gloss

Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Grape Seed Extract, Jojoba Esters, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Ginger Root Oil, Pomegranate Extract, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Soybean Oil, Flavor, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Bisabolol. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Carmine, Red 30 Lake, Red 7 Lake
The PureMoist lipsticks are really moisterising, Melisa is sheer purple shade, that looked ok with the lipgloss applied over it. It's not very vibrant but I wasn't expecting it to be, it is very subtle. Carrie is a vibrant (ish) red, it's the most vibrant natural red lipstick I've found so far. and stays on pretty good but I wish it was more vibrant because the formula is really nice

Melisa worn with Cosmo
Carrie (still quite sheer but better than the Benecos red)
Finally I got the Active Light concealer which is a great product, I thought it was going to be too light but it's actually the perfect shade to brighten my under eyes. I got it in the darkest shade Butternut. It has a brush applicator and it blends in pretty well. It's my favourite product from the bunch.

Overall Jane Iredale is well formulated but the colours I chose are very sheer, I think that this will be the case for all natural lipsticks. I love that they have darker shades in foundations and concealers and if you can find your shade they have a nice liquid foundation. Beauty Time Therapies is a well stocked website with Elemis, YoungBlood and Environ being just a few of the brands they stock. They often have massive brand discounts and the shipping in free in the UK. Beauty Time Therapies also has a great online consultation you fill out a form and they will send you samples to fit your skin which is AMAZING!
