KL

I love traveling out of Singapore to eat good food! KL's food was definitely nothing short of amazing. Was there for around 4 days and i really wanted to extend my trip because i felt i haven't got to try a lot of good food.

This is my 2nd trip out of Singapore with #thepartyinvaders and this time it's to Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia.

We took a 3-4 hour drive from Singapore to KL. Left Singapore at 3AM to avoid jams. Quite happy we didn't have to get stuck in any jams to and fro.

When we reached, we were all dead beat from the ride to KL. Can't imagine how tired the drivers that morning felt!

We checked into...
One Stop Residence
Kompleks Metro Pudu, Jalan Metro Pudu 2
Fraser Business Park
Kuala Lumpur 55100, Malaysia

Most of the hotels/service apartments were fully booked but thank goodness for our friend's uncle for this service apartment! At the lobby, we felt a lil bit scared the rooms would look bad and it'll be scary but when we reached our rooms, we had a rather pleasant surprise! Considering the fact we paid so little, IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD. The rooms were so clean - most important! We all got a 2 bed room suite which could fit 4-5 people a room.

When i told my other friends i was going to KL, they recommended a list of places and so, i had a bunch of places in mind to check out but unfortunately, 4 days was definitely not enough to cover half the places on the list. Plus, during this trip, we all partied SO HARD so waking up early in the morning sure wasn't possible. It's like some only went to bed at 8am?? CRAAAAY! Partying in ZOUK KL was so SO much fun! Maybe because we were in a foreign place and could do anything we wanted and not be remembered. LOL. Then after ZOUK, most of us would have an after-party in the room. Madness! That's the #thepartyinvaders for you.

Here's the list of the hawkers/restaurants/cafes we visited in KL...

Wong Ah Wah (for chinese food)
Location: Jalan Alor
Must Try: Chicken Wings, Salted Egg Pork Ribs/Squid

Restoran Kin Kin (for ban mian)

Alexis (for cakes and desserts)
Location: 29 Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Must Try: Tiramisu

Long Grilled Fish Restaurant (for seafood)
Location: Jalan Kelab Jinjang Utara, Kuala Lumpur
Must Try: Baby Squid, Fried Calamari with Butter Sauce

Restoran Chuai Heng (for dim sum)
Location: 231, Jalan Bukit Bintang 55100,, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Must Try: Custard Bun (liu sha bao), Peking Duck, Century Egg

Overseas Restaurant (for char siew)
Location: 84-86 Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Must Try: Char Siew, Sliced Pork Belly w Salted Fish

Siew Ngap Fai (for roasted meat)
Location: 2-40 Lorong Yap Hin, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Must Try: Char Siew

This trip to KL, we didn't really walk much which also means no shopping. Well except at Pavilion where i got some stuff from Forever 21 & Zara. Heard the shopping at Mid Valley Mall and Sungei Wang Plaza is not bad but it's a pity i didn't manage to go there! I think i went there before VERY long ago but can't remember what it's like anymore.

Anyhow, for those in Malaysia, do visit BAZARRO KL for ShopOhsofickle stuff! :)

Naumi Liora @ Keong Saik Road

I love that they have a snacks bar!!

Checked into the Naumi Liora - Porch Room!

It was not as big as i thought it would be but it was pretty nice and clean! Plus the toilet looks really beautiful. I was slightly disappointed there wasn't a bath tub. :(

Did a ShopOhsofickle shoot at the Porch! :)

The porch was way bigger than i expected though! I think it's a great place for birthday gatherings with less than 12 people - but of course, it's a hotel so the noise level has to be kept low. Plus the price you pay for the space is actually quite low since it's not some 5-star hotel.

Naumi Liora is a cultural hotel (not a luxury hotel as what Naumi Hotel is) housed in an artfully restored heritage townhouse. The internal structure of the hotel is constructed to preserve elements of its heritage, whilst still offering modern design comfort. You can expect to hear footsteps on our wood-timbered floors, and that is all part of the cultural experience here at Naumi Liora. There is also a complimentary “Nibbles” corner at the lobby that serves up an assortment of old school sweets, biscuits, and ice cream. You may, too, visit the famed Keong Saik Snacks next door which is opened by a one-star Michelin chef, Jason Antherton, who has once worked for Gordon Ramsay. Their international breakfast buffet will only set you back by S$10/pax.

My favorite part of the hotel was THE BED. I had the most amazing afternoon cat nap before heading out at night to party.

What i like a lot about this place is the location! It is near town and also around the area, there are lotsa great places to eat at! For dinner, i went to MooJaa for Mookata! Which was only a few units away. :)

I personally prefer staycations at hotels which are more quirky and fun instead of Cultural hotels - maybe cus i'm still young! :D But i'm sure there are many out there who like Cultural hotels!
